What did the ‘day of pentecost’ mean before?
To the outsider: What are these people babbling? Wait, they’re speaking my native tongue. That’s not possible, aren’t they Galileans? Wait, you sense something going on too? This is really confusing. Do you hear them as well in an unusual way? How is this possible? What are they on?
All this astonishment, and the Scriptures don’t actually say what they spoke of exactly at this moment.
What would it look like for the world to look upon us, as the church, possibly be confused for a moment, yet hear us speaking to them in the language in their heart of hearts, and be astonished?
Was Peter still speaking in tongues when he addresses the crowd?
“I will pour out my Spirit upon all flesh”… sons, daughters, slaves, young, old, men, women – no one seems to be left out… nor does it seem equated to belief in certain doctrinal statements.

Jesus “It was impossible for him to be held in its (deaths) power. Awesome.
v37 “Now when they heard this they were cut to the heart” – when this happens its responded by “What should we do?” desire for action, change, transformation
How might we preach, proclaim, act with such power?
v44 All who believed were together and had all things in common
