Matthew 25

by Lon on March 10, 2009

- the annointing of Jesus – will this verse always justify extravagant worship over the poor?
- I wonder if/how we’d live differently if Jesus didn’t live within us, but beside us, physically?
- Christ was comfortable taking time to receive lavish praise – even while there were urgent needs everywhere – How might this impact the way we live and minister?
- Were the rest of the disciples so dense that they couldn’t tune in to what Jesus was saying about Judas?
- Jesus goes sober – “I tell you, I will never again drink of this fruit of the vine until that day when I drink it new with you in my Father’s kingdom” v29
- Jesus “threw himself on the ground and prayed” – hard to imagine.. and hard to honestly do.
- How Ironic – The high priest said to Jesus, “I put you under oath before the living God…”
- “Prophesy to us, you Messiah!  Who is it that struck you” – gotta admit this was a witty comment – at the same time, I can’t help but feel we break the heart of God everyday and wrap it up in wittiness.
