Ananias and Sapphira

- It would have been nice if Ananias had a chance to respond – I guess some times that just doesn’t happen.

- What does it mean to lie to the holy spirit?  Is it in thought and/or action?

- The deaths seemed to be fairly on cue with Peter’s words – was here merely stating what was going to happen?  or summoning it?

- Why is it that we want to appear more generous than we are?  Isn’t there some shred of good in that?  At least there is some tiny moral compass within us that desires good, even when we’re not capable of it?

- What a powertrip it must’ve been for people to desire Peter’s mere shadow to fall upon them.

- v20 – “Go, stand in the temple and tell the people the whole message about this life” – What would you say?

- Gamaliel – a teacher of the law – “I tell you, keep away from these men and let them alone; because if this plan or this undertaking is of human origin, it will fail; but if it is of God, you will not be able to overthrow them – in that case you may even be found fighting against God!”

- yet the gave them a flogging anyways

- apostles rejoiced that they were considered worthy to suffer dishonor for the sake of the name

- And every day in the temple and at home they did not cease to teach and proclaim Jesus as the Messiah
