thesis costs bucket loads of money
thematic is free
thesis definitely seems to be gaining the critical mass necessary for ongoing support, development and user community… thematic, doesn’t seem quite there.
from what i can tell, they both seem to offer about the same number of hooks, thematic being a bit easier to edit the css if you don’t know how to do it yourself.
anyone else have thoughts on the two?

I’ve been going back and forth between the two of them as well. The thing I really like about Thematic is all the different widget areas that are ready to go out of the box. I think they’re 13! while Thesis only has two. This is a big difference especially if you’re not very technical or don’t want to go through the trouble of adding new widget areas to Thesis.
Yeah, thanks for the comment – it took me a while to decide as well. I ultimately went with thesis – there is a bit of a learning curve, but I’ve got to say it just works, and works well!
