Nehemiah 2:9-20

by Lon on June 16, 2009

Random notes on Nehemiah 2:9-20

- passage is bookended by criticism and opposition – stood by the sidelines causing trouble from beginning to end
- Nehemiah did nothing for 3 days upon arrival of the city – sabbath/rest
- People opposed him because he sought the welfare of the city – who opposes us today and for what?
- The city was burned, broken, destroyed by fire, and in ruins – His horse couldn’t travel through some parts
- “Come let us rebuild” – rebuild common ground
- If God wanted this to go through – why the obstacles?
- Nehemiah researched the different neighborhoods – consistent with his preparations and diligence
