An update on my niche blogging experiment. I think it’s going well.

I started about almost a week ago. I think timing is everything. Finding something that works for you that is also setting trends and while being early on the scene is a huge factor I think. I don’t know if I can maintain the certain trend, I’d be pretty happy with 60k hits a month or so.
Problem right now is that I’ve got zero page rank even though I get tons of hits, and depending on the keywords the site is in the first page of google search. But for me to make any real ad cash I think I need to get to a pagerank of at least 3.
One thing that helped is definitely the SEO optimized Thesis Framework I built the site on. It’s not perfection, but it’s been well worth the cash and a very affective edge in design and gaining traction. Plugins like ‘subscribe to comments’ and ‘global translator’ are also helping draw people in and stay as well I think.
I really don’t have too much time to put into it, so I’m hoping it can become a steady, even if small, stream of income, with a fairly minimum amount of work involved.
