Matthew 18

What does Jesus mean when he says ‘enter’ the kingdom of heaven?  a place, a realm, a new way of living, a different reality, a time, an event?

what did this ‘child’ ever do to ‘attain’ heaven?  probably realizes nothing, and that’s the answer.

Jesus goes beyond the child, to the welcoming of such a child equating to welcoming him.  does welcoming him equate to ‘entering’ the kingdom?

v7 – occasional stumblings are bound to come

what’s left of us if we cut off all that causes us to stumble?

jesus describes i assume the kingdom here as ‘entering life’ – again, a place, realm? alternative to the hell of fire?

v10 all connected – christ goes on about the ‘little one’ – what does he mean by ‘their angels’

v14 – it is not the will of your father in heaven that one of these little ones should be lost

v15 nrsv uses the term church ‘member’

v19 if two of you agree on earth about anything you ask – maybe it really is just that hard

unmerciful servant – how can you repay a debt while being tortured in prison?
